We just loved your concert last night at the Folk Music Society. You should update your link to
include your daughter. She was wonderful and the harmony WAS THE BEST. Feel free to talk about her. I am sure all would love to know about her Drexel degree. She should have studied music. Would love to have known what she got her degree in and what kind of job she landed after a year. YOU FOUR ARE FOLK MUSIC GEMS. I loved the banter between you- so folksy and wonderful.

Dear Emmy,
Hey, there would be no doubt for me to vote for your music. In fact I tried to do it but the web site required that I register which I never do because it results in unending spam and solicitations. Recently I changed my address to escape this annoyance, which successfully worked.
Nevertheless as I sat at my computer here in Mission, Texas, fond memories were exposed as I listened to your song. I remember playing those Chicago recordings as you & Lynnie did that precise mix at high volume. It was fun.
There is no contest: the Twins are the best. Each of the tunes contain extensive planning, writing and talent. They are so complex that any competing group would have quite a problem copying the arrangements. It is an injustice that you didn't make the big time like Swift of Wyomissing. Although I didn't have anything to do with her rise, I did know and work with her father in the 80s. Nothing she has done so far matches the talent and ability of your efforts so apparently she had contacts in Nashville and smiled at the right people at the right time. Her long blond flowing hair may be a factor, who knows?
Anyhow, if nothing else changes, just keep writing and singing your songs. At least you can have the satisfaction knowing they are superior to the average and up to par with anything in the Nation ...and who knows? you could still land a contract that propels you to fame. Good luck!

After the fire we set out to replace our equipment. Linda's first bass was a fender precision fretless bass and back in the early 70's they were hard to find. There just weren't a lot of fretless bass players around. The only one we knew of was our friend, "Big Jim" Fegely the violin maker, and he bought a regular bass and took the frets off himself. So we couldn't just walk into any music store and buy one; hence, we ordered one that was supposed to arrive in 3 weeks just before our next job. When we went to the store that morning the owner came excitedly running out the store to greet us- "You'll never believe this! Your bass didn't come in- I couldn't get it because they're so rare they said it would take a year to get it, but the day it was supposed to arrive I got this delivery!" He took us over to a case that contained a fretless bass just like the one she had ordered and proceeded to tell us that he had ordered this bass a year ago- so long ago that he had forgotten he had ordered it, but it just happened to show up on the same day that the one she had ordered was supposed to arrive! Wow...talk about fate....

Our first trip out on the road years ago was with a show band- "The Kenny Charles Show". We left in august that year & were playing 6 nights a week. November we were booked for 3 weeks at a club in Toledo, OH playing 5 nights a week. We thought it was great having 2 nights off instead of 1, but we only got to play 1 night. That night after we were done performing the mafia blew up the club with all our equipment in it! We had just finished paying off our new equipment & had applied for insurance, but the insurance wasn't final 'til the day after the fire so we had to start all over again. A fireman went in what was left of the building(3 walls were still standing) & retrieved an old antique stewart banjo for us- don't know how this was the only thing to survive the fire. Of course it was badly burned & when we got back to our motel we put it in the bath tub. You can imagine what the room smelled like! Eventually our good friend, Jim Fegley, who was an excellent violin maker & restorer repaired it for us. It wasn't even ours. Another good friend, Don Gardener, left us take it on the road. After all that he told us to just keep it. It's hanging on our wall. We learned the hard way to never leave anything behind that you can pack up and take with you 'til the next night! The next story will be how Linda replaced her fretless bass.

I'm hearing Karen Carpenter...and I know she's gone, so which one of you are the clone? Seriously, I haven't heard stuff this impressive in this genre since "Close To You". EXCELLENT!

We loved all of the songs on this album. The Holt Twins have beautiful harmonizing voices that make each song special. We also loved the way that each instrument added to the blending voices giving depth and character to the music. We have played this continually throughout the holidays and it has become a Christmas favorite. We thank you for this wonderful music!

I have been a huge fan for a long time. I remember a few years back, (I won't say how long), but I used to go to Waukegan Illinois to the Sunset Lanes bowling alley and they had this club in there called, 'The Turf Club'. A band came in there that everyone fell in love with. They were called 'Double Image'. You two ladies brought down the house then and you are still bringing down the house now. I am honored to be in your circle of friends. Thanks, JD Aldridge, singer / songwriter,
and lead guitarist for SRX.

Fallen Butterfly is AWESOME! Really reminds me of two bands I loved back in the Day - Renaissance and It's a Beautiful Day - but you're still here! Which makes you better than them... Wish I could be there in Dallastown tonight, but I will definitely be in Denver at the end of the month! Keep on!
